NUOVA S.M.I. SRL carries out activities of “CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT, PIPING AND INDUSTRIAL METALLIC PECULIARITIES INCLUDING WELDING.”

The main risks for workers safety are therefore the following: risks linked with the handling of objects, risks of cutting, exposure to non-optimal microclimates in the workplace, risk deriving from exposure to sources of noise, risks deriving from exposure to powders.

NUOVA S.M.I. SRL, aware of the risks to which its workers are exposed, has defined a series of activities connected with training, audits and review of company activities which at the moment translates into the implementation of the safety management system, flanked to the usual activities linked with legal requirements, with the aim of certifying it according to the OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard. This certification will certainly help to highlight the commitment of the entire structure and not just the property, towards the prevention of accidents at work, the commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with current legislation, especially because it’s accompanied by a series of corporate investments which are in fact oriented not only towards technological improvement, but also towards reducing the risks present in the workplaces to which workers are exposed.

NUOVA S.M.I. SRL, therefore, has a preventive rather than proactive attitude towards the protection of workers’ safety (as orderly by provisions of the law) and therefore, in compliance with the requirements of OHSAS 18001, has defined this policy. Supported by the intent and will of the management, it’s constantly implemented and kept active. The main objectives that management intends to set are therefore the following:

  • keep active and continuously improve the safety management system, in compliance with OHSAS 18001: 2007;
  • guarantee an adequate level of training and information for all personnel;
  • improve working conditions in general associated with work on site;
  • reducing the risks for the safety of workers deriving from company activities.

To this end, the Management gives full mandate to the Head of the Safety Management System, the Management Representative and the Head of the Prevention and Protection Service, to implement all the necessary actions in order to pursue the objectives contained in this policy.
